St Patty’s Day and BEER!

Stay away from the “green” beer! Though the term can be applied to a beer that tastes too fresh (no such thing- fresh beer is the best) the green beer any pubs or hosts may be serving is most likely just regular draft beer with some blue or green food colouring added.

If you’re going to be celebrating with a few pints on St. Patty’s and you’re not a fan of Guinness or any other fine stout have no fear, go ahead and choose a lager of your preference and rest assured that you will be in the company of the majority of Irish beer drinkers where lager makes up over 67% of the beer sold in that country.  If you want to keep it Irish purchase a Harp lager, it may be slightly reminiscent of a Heinekin but with less of that “skunky” essence ...

No, not the title of some song but an observation on the way things are. We just got back from vacation in Maui. It is one of the most beautiful places on the planet and, somewhat obviously, has some of the most consistent weather. It’s always warm, mostly sunny and has a host of things to do; golfing sun tanning, swimming, snorkeling, surfing, paddling, fishing, whale watching, sightseeing, zip-lining, shopping, eating out, drinking little bevies with umbrellas in them. You know all those things that a six month old would enjoy! That’s right I said six month old. I’m being facetious to make a point. Of course Hawaii makes a fine destination for vacations of any kind including “family” vacations. I would think though that most of the stuff to do would be well suited to children who are old enough to appreciate taking part; six years old at least. ...
