Breakfast Clubs of Canada - Campaign

Breakfast Clubs of Canada is committed to the cause of feeding our children’s future because every child deserves an equal chance to shine in school and in life.

 Supporting points:

  • 1-in-10 Canadian children are at risk of going to school on an empty stomach every day.
  • Every breakfast counts towards our children’s and our country’s future.
  • Every child deserves an equal chance to shine at school and a nutritious breakfast makes that possible.
  • School breakfast programs help to level the playing field for disadvantaged children, giving them an equal chance to grow and flourish throughout life.
  • When children go to school hungry or poorly nourished, their energy levels, memory, problem-solving skills, creativity, concentration and behaviour are all negatively impacted. As a result of being hungry at school, these children may not reach their full developmental potential.

The Breakfast Clubs of Canada and Walmart are proud to launch their annual campaign with its new name, Help Them Shine Campaign, aimed at raising awareness and funds to support school breakfast programs coast-to-coast.

  • The Breakfast Clubs of Canada (BCC) is a national organization dedicated to providing services and funding to school breakfast programs

Come visit us on February 16th as we broadcast live from Walmart in Kelowna to kick off the campaign!

“Kids are making connections in the online world from a very young age, but as parents, we often feel nervous and unprepared to empower them to protect themselves,” points out Karine Veldhoen, chief learning officer at First Lutheran Christian School. “Our goal with this event is to ease fears and help parents engage with their kids about what they’re really doing online in a positive and proactive way.”

They are simply unable or unwilling to access other shelters in Kelowna. Many of Inn from the Cold's guests have suffered head injuries or have mental health, addiction or other significant health issues. Most guests fit in several of these categories.
