Vending food trucks will be heard in West Kelowna
West Kelowna residents stood up for the ice cream man, and won.
District council has decided to rescind a decision made last month to prohibit mobile vending trucks from playing music.
Mayor Doug Findlater says residents were quite upset about the previous ruling.
"The public felt that the sound of the ice cream truck was nostalgic, it was the sounds of summer. Most people don't mind it in their neighbourhoods."
There is a clause in the bylaw that states mobile vending trucks must be moving in order to be playing any amplified music.
They also can't park in one spot for longer than a half hour.
